These are the stories that are published on this blog:
Story 8: Went back to same formula that made stories 2, 4 & 5 successful (see Never Published below). Started April 21, 2014 and finished January 17, 2015. Story was published in four parts and consists of a total 142 episodes. (See Story 8 Introduction)
Story 0: Following the failure of story 9. I returned to TS3 and attempted to reboot Story 8. Why I did this… I do not know. The story consisted of 26 episodes and ran for only one “season” from May, 2015 to July, 2015. When I realized that this story was going nowhere, I deftly transitioned to THOTB – The History of Twin Bayous. (See Story 0 Introduction)
THOTB (The History of Twin Bayous): I took me a while, but eventually I realized that this was the story that I was attempting to tell all along – a history of a small town full of all sorts of interesting characters. It was started on July 17, 2015 and as of May 2016 there are 115 episodes. This one is an actual legacy style story based a legacy that I developed that I call Rotational Play Reverse Legacy Challenge. (See THOTB Introduction | THOTB Characters | THOTB Seasons & Episodes)
From the very first day I started playing The Sims 3 I kept notes. At first this was on paper and the using Microsoft One Note. Eventually I got the idea to add screen-shots and then the I got the idea for a blog.
Story #1: from 1963 to 2016 (53 years), story ended because things were just getting out of control the plot was all over the map. Started in February 2013 and ended in March 2013
Story 2: from 1963 to 2046 (83 years). The story seemed to have run its course. Wanted to increase the lifespan. Running out of ideas. Started in March 2013 and ended in August 2013 (six months).
Story 3: from 1963 to 1982 (20 years). This was the first story to take place in Twin Bayous. All of the main families/characters of Twin Bayous first appeared here. Was bouncing back and forth between two characters and had introduced too many characters too soon. Only played for a couple of weeks. This one was really more of a test for Twin Bayous.
Story 4: from 1963 to 2011 (48 years). There was a happy ending so I decided to call it quits. Also wanted to update Twin Bayous. Played from August 2013 to October 2013.
Story 5: Started in October 2013 and played to March 2014. Took place in Twin Bayous. It covers roughly 60 to 80 years depending on how you look at it as there is a 20-year period where Mike and Raquel traveled back in time. After story 6 and 7 both bombed out, I tried to get back into story 5, but ran into a problem caused when using traveler to change hometown. It seems a copy of your Sim is saved in the world file and so I wound up with a number of doppelgangers. Used a 300 sim-day lifespan.
Story 6: I abandoned this one after only a few days because I did not take any pictures, and I went with a life span of one sim day = 1 year. More of an experiment that failed.
Story 7: I stopped this one as soon as it got started. I had over-populated the town.
Story 9: This was a story that I started in TS4 after story 8. I ran into a lot problems with this story and then I got sick. It was published, but I decided to tear it down and start Story 0.
