When will The Sims 4 be released?
EA announced the release date for The Sims 4 at a press conference at E3 2014 on Monday June 9th at 12:00 PM PDT. The date is set for September 2, 2014. If you purchase through Origin, you can pre-load the game starting August 29th.
What I know so far regarding TS4…
…mainly comes from the four official trailers released by EA. The first two were published in August, 2013
…and a game play demo…
The next two were published in late May 2014
One on Create-A-Sim (CAS)
And the other on Build Mode

Sims 4: Smarter and Weirder (June 28, 2014)

Also there is this curious statement in the section entitled World:
Currently, there is not much official information to provide you with regarding the world for The Sims 4. We do not yet know if the world is open like The Sims 3, or closed like The Sims 2. The only thing we really do know is that a working tram is included in the world.
Saw this tweet today (June 9, 2014) that says that one confirmed world for TS4 is called Willow Creek and was inspired by New Orleans.
On July 14, it was revealed that there will be a second world named Oasis Springs – a desert themed world ala Las Vegas, NV.
Looking at some of the videos of Willow Creek you can see that there is a streetcar just like there is on St Charles Ave in the NOLA Garden District.
And in one shot I spotted a riverboat…

What I would like to see in TS4
Here is my list is what I would like to see in the The Sims 4 (TS4): Unbalanced Relationships – Get rid both sides having the same feelings/relationship level towards each other. How about “He’s just not that into you.” or “I’ve got a crush on that girl, but she doesn’t even know that I exist”? Walk and Chew Gum at the Same Time – more realism in interactions. Let Sims eat and converse at the same time or when someone is in the kitchen cooking everyone else waits until dinner is ready. (And I could go on and on with this item…) Make World Creation an Art, not a Science – When I first looked at Create-A-Word (CAW) I found it be too far more complex and as I result I was intimidated to learn it for the longest time. I got over that I eventually learned to CAW, but I was hoping for something more along the lines of Sim City 4. Why after nearly 5 years is TS3 CAW still listed as beta? I am hoping that the TS4 CAW will be easier to work with. Forget “Ozzie & Harriett”, How about “Seinfeld”? – make it so that you can “play” people living in different households as actives within a social group that is not necessarily a family unit. No more Rabbit Holes – open the doors and let us see what’s going on inside the movie theatre or the hospital. Let Sims Evolve Over Time – this goes for aging and also traits. “He may have been a rebellious, brooding, loner when he was teen, but by the time he was in his thirties he was a total jerk, and now, in his fifties, he is a highly evolved human being.” Breaking Up is Hard (or Easy) to do – Why is it that “Let’s just be friends” is found under the “Mean” interaction? This is a sort of the reverse of #1 above. Why is it that in relationships, the entire burden falls on the active Sim to initiate romance and to also be the bad-guy/gal when the relationship isn’t working? Hoping that changes in TS4.
